Sukta 10.177
पतंगो वाचं मनसा बिभर्ति तां गन्धर्वोऽवदद्गर्भे अन्तः । तां द्योतमानां स्वर्यं मनीषामृतस्य पदे कवयो नि पान्ति ॥
pataṅgó vā́caṃ mánasā bibharti tā́ṃ gandharvó ’vadad gárbhe antáḥ | tā́ṃ dyótamānāṃ svaryàṃ manīṣā́m ṛtásya padé kaváyo ní pānti ||
பதங்கன் (சிறகுடையவன்) வாக்கை மனத்தில் தாங்குகிறான்; கந்தர்வன் அதை கருவின் உள்ளே உரைத்தான். அந்த ஒளிவீசும், சூரிய-ஒளியுடைய ஊக்கத்தை—ருதத்தின் பதத்தில்—கவிகள் (ரிஷிகள்) காத்து, அதை அருந்துகின்றனர்.
