Sukta 1.161
हनामैनाँ इति त्वष्टा यदब्रवीच्चमसं ये देवपानमनिन्दिषुः । अन्या नामानि कृण्वते सुते सचाँ अन्यैरेनान्कन्या नामभिः स्परत् ॥
hanā́mainā́n íti tvaṣṭā́ yád ábravīc camasáṃ yé devapā́nam ánindiṣuḥ | anyā́ nā́māni kṛṇvate suté sacā́ anyáir enān kanyā́ nā́mabhiḥ sparat ||
“நான் இவர்களைத் தள்ளி வீழ்த்துவேன்” என்று த்வஷ்டா சொன்னான்— அவர்கள் தேவர்களின் பானத்திற்காக குற்றமற்றதாகச் செய்த அந்த சமஸைப் பற்றி அவன் பேசும்போது. சோமம் பிழியப்படும் வேளையில் அவர்கள் வேறு பெயர்களை அமைக்கிறார்கள்; வேறு ‘கன்னி-பெயர்களால்’ அவள் அவர்களைத் தொடந்து, அவர்களைத் தன் வசப்படுத்துகிறாள்.
