शोणितार्द्रोमहाकायोराक्षसोभीमविक्रमः ।युद्धायाभिमुखोभीमोमनश्चक्रेनिशाचरः ।।6.67.91।।नीलाञ्जनचयप्रख्यःसस्नध्यइवतोयदः ।अमर्षाच्छोणितोद्गारीशुशुभेरावणानुजीः ।।6.67.92।।
śoṇitārdrō mahākāyo rākṣaso bhīmavikramaḥ |
yuddhāyābhimukho bhīmo manaś cakre niśācaraḥ ||

nīlāñjanacayaprakhyaḥ sasnadhya iva toyadaḥ |
amarṣāc chōṇitodgārī śuśubhe rāvaṇānujaḥ ||

நீலாஞ்சனக் குவியலைப் போலக் கருமை நிறமாய், ஈரமிகு மேகக் கூட்டம் போல்; கோபத்தால் இரத்தம் உமிழ்ந்து, இராவணனின் இளையோன் கும்பகர்ணன் பயங்கர ஒளியுடன் விளங்கினான்।
Kumbhakarna of terrific valour and gigantic body, drenched in blood, dark in colour like a mountain of collyrium, resembling evening cloud, the night ranger went towards the battlefield.
Even when the textual tradition repeats or reindexes lines, the ethical reading remains: anger-driven ferocity is not equivalent to dharmic purpose.
A repeated/continued depiction of Kumbhakarṇa’s wounded yet fearsome return to battle.
Persistence (as sheer will), contrasted implicitly with righteousness (dharma) as the higher standard.
