शुकस्यवचनंश्रुत्वारामस्तुपरिदेवितम् ।उवाचमावधिष्टेतिघ्नतश्शाखामृगर्षभान् ।।।।
śukasya vacanaṃ śrutvā rāmas tu paridevitam |
uvāca mā vadhiṣṭeti ghnataḥ śākhāmṛgarṣabhān ||
சுகனின் இரங்கல் மொழியைக் கேட்ட ராமன், அடிக்கத் துடித்து அழுது கொண்டிருந்த சிறந்த வானரர்களிடம்—“இவனை கொல்லாதீர்கள்” என்று கூறினான்.
