वर्णनम् / Sītā’s Distress and Rāvaṇa’s Attempt at Coercive Allurement
वृत्तशीलकुले जातामाचारवति धार्मिके।पुनःसंस्कारमापन्नां जातामिव च दुष्कुले।।।।
vṛttaśīlakule jātām ācāravati dhārmike |
punaḥsaṃskāram āpannāṃ jātām iva ca duṣkule ||
நல்லொழுக்கமும் சீலமும் நிறைந்த, தர்மாசாரமுடைய குலத்தில் பிறந்த அவள், இப்போது மீண்டும் சுத்திச் சடங்குக்குட்பட்டவள்போல்—தாழ்ந்த குலத்தில் பிறந்தவளெனத் தோன்றினாள்।
