भरद्वाजाश्रमगमनम्
Bharata at Bharadvāja’s Hermitage
तथेति तत्प्रतिज्ञाय भरद्वाजो महातपाः।भरतं प्रत्युवाचेदं राघवस्नेहबन्धनात्।।2.90.9।।
tatheti tat pratijñāya bharadvājo mahātapāḥ | bharataṃ pratyuvācedaṃ rāghava-sneha-bandhanāt || 2.90.9 ||
‘அப்படியே’ என்று உறுதி அளித்து, மாபெரும் தவசியாகிய பரத்வாஜர்—ராகவனின் அன்புப் பிணைப்பால் கட்டுண்டவர்—பரதனை நோக்கி இவ்வாறு உரைத்தார்॥
Saying, all is well, the great ascetic Bharadwaja, out of his affection for Rama, said to Bharata:
The verse foregrounds dharmic speech rooted in goodwill: Bharadvāja responds with assurance and care, motivated by righteous affection for Rāma and proper regard for Bharata.
Bharata has reached Bharadvāja’s āśrama during his search related to Rāma; the sage, warmly disposed due to love for Rāma, begins addressing Bharata.
Bharadvāja’s benevolence and impartial hospitality—he speaks supportively to Bharata while remaining devoted to Rāma.
