तं महर्षिगणैर्जुष्टं सुपर्णकृतलक्षणम्।नाम्ना सुभद्रं न्यग्रोधं ददर्श धनदानुजः।।।।

Transliteration

taṃ maharṣigaṇair juṣṭaṃ suparṇakṛtalakṣaṇam | nāmnā subhadraṃ nyagrodhaṃ dadarśa dhanadānujaḥ ||

Translation

மகாரிஷிகளின் கூட்டத்தால் போற்றப்பட்டதும், சுபர்ணன் (கருடன்) விட்ட அடையாளத்தால் குறியிடப்பட்டதும் ஆகிய ‘சுபத்ர’ எனப் பெயருடைய அந்த ஆலமரத்தை, தனதன் (குபேரன்) இளையவன் ராவணன் கண்டான்.
