The Disfigurement of Śūrpaṇakhā
ततस्तु सा राक्षससङ्घसंवृतं खरं जनस्थानगतं विरूपिता।उपेत्य तं भ्रातरमुग्रदर्शनं पपात भूमौ गगनाद्यथाऽशनिः।।।।
tatas tu sā rākṣasasaṅghasaṃvṛtaṃ kharaṃ janasthānagataṃ virūpitā |
upetya taṃ bhrātaram ugradarśanaṃ papāta bhūmau gaganād yathāśaniḥ ||
அப்போது உருவம் சிதைந்த அவள், இராட்சசக் கூட்டத்தால் சூழப்பட்ட ஜனஸ்தானத்தில் வாழும் உக்ரதரிசனன் ஆகிய அண்ணன் கரனை அணுகி, வானத்திலிருந்து விழும் இடியென நிலத்தில் விழுந்தாள்।
