मेधावनं समासाद्य पितृदेवांश्च तर्पयेत् । अग्निष्टोममवाप्नोति स्मृतिं मेधां च विंदति

மேதாவனத்தை அடைந்து பித்ருக்களுக்கும் தேவர்களுக்கும் தர்ப்பணம் செய்ய வேண்டும். அதனால் அக்னிஷ்டோம யாகப் பலன் கிடைத்து, ஸ்மிருதி மற்றும் மேதை பெறப்படும்.
