Narrator (contextual; verse is descriptive rather than direct speech)
Concept: True merit is publicly (cosmically) acknowledged: when a couple performs dharma with faith, even sages and great deities praise them—virtue becomes luminous and universally affirmed.
Application: Treat shared spiritual practice as a joint sādhana—pray together, serve guests/elders, and perform duties with integrity; let praise be secondary to sincerity.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta

The verse identifies them generally as a “dampatī” (a husband-and-wife pair). The specific identities depend on the surrounding narrative in Adhyaya 60.
It highlights Śiva (Maheśvara) as being accompanied by Devī (commonly understood as Pārvatī), emphasizing the paired divine presence in acts of witnessing and praise.
It supports the theme of stuti (praise) and communal reverence—sages and major deities together honoring exemplary beings, reinforcing dharmic and devotional ideals.
