कति नष्टा हताः कोला भीता दुर्गेषु संस्थिताः । कुंजेषु कंदरांतेषु गुहांतेषु नृपोत्तम

எத்தனை கோலங்கள் (பன்றிகள்) அழிந்தன, எத்தனை கொல்லப்பட்டன—அச்சத்தால் கோட்டைகளில் தஞ்சமடைந்து, புதர்களில், குகைகளின் ஆழங்களில், மறைந்த குகைவாய்களில் ஒளிந்திருந்தன, அரசர்களில் சிறந்தவனே!
