Pulastya (narrating to Bhīṣma)

Concept: Bhakti that pleases Hṛṣīkeśa culminates in entry to the imperishable Vaiṣṇava world, beyond cycles of destruction.

Application: Measure spiritual progress by increased devotion and ethical steadiness rather than external signs; cultivate practices that ‘please’ the Lord—nāma, pūjā, compassion, truthfulness.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: celestial_realm

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Two liberated figures rise gently from the earthly plane as Hṛṣīkeśa’s radiant presence opens a path of light toward a distant, jewel-like Vaikuṇṭha city floating above cosmic waters. Behind them, the shadow of fire and dissolution fades, emphasizing a realm untouched by pralaya.","primary_figures":["Hrishikesha (Vishnu/Krishna)","Devotee","Mother","Father"],"setting":"A liminal sky-path from earth to Vaikuṇṭha; distant celestial city with lotus domes and golden gates.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["celestial gold","lapis lazuli","pearl white","lotus pink","turquoise"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Vishnu/Hrishikesha enthroned with gold leaf radiance, a luminous staircase of light leading to Vaikuṇṭha, two figures ascending with folded hands, ornate celestial architecture with embossed gold, rich jewel tones, intricate crowns and textiles, prabhāvali and gem-like highlights.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate ascent scene with soft clouds, Vaikuṇṭha palace in the distance, refined faces and gentle gestures, cool blues with warm saffron glow, lyrical composition with floating lotuses and subtle cosmic motifs.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: stylized Vaikuṇṭha gateway, Vishnu with bold outlines and halo, ascending devotees in iconic posture, strong red-yellow-green palette with blue accents, temple-wall narrative clarity.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: Vaikuṇṭha as a lotus-palace motif, deep blue background with gold lotuses, central Vishnu radiance, ascending figures framed by floral borders, peacocks and lamps, intricate symmetrical ornamentation."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"celebratory","suggested_raga":"Desh","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"serene","sound_elements":["conch shell","temple bells","choral 'Hari' refrain (soft)","wind chimes"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: दाहप्रलयवर्जितौ = दाह + प्रलय + वर्जितौ (तत्पुरुष); प्रयातौ is past participle used as finite sense for dual subject.

FAQs

It states that Viṣṇu (Hṛṣīkeśa) becomes fully satisfied specifically through devotion (bhaktyā), and that this divine pleasure results in the devotee attaining the Vaiṣṇava realm.

It indicates a transcendent Vaiṣṇava abode not subject to cyclical cosmic catastrophes—such as conflagration (dāha) and pralaya (universal dissolution)—that affect the created worlds.

Sincere devotion and a life oriented toward God are portrayed as the decisive cause for divine grace and the highest destination, surpassing fear of worldly destruction and impermanence.
