Description of Pilgrimage to the Sacred Fords
पंचषष्टिसमाः संध्या तेन चोपासिता भवेत् । पुरीं वाराणसीं तां तु श्मशानं चाविमुक्तकम् ॥ ६१ ॥
paṃcaṣaṣṭisamāḥ saṃdhyā tena copāsitā bhavet | purīṃ vārāṇasīṃ tāṃ tu śmaśānaṃ cāvimuktakam || 61 ||
அறுபத்தைந்து ஆண்டுகள் சந்த்யா-உபாசனை செய்தவனுக்கு அது முறையாக நிறைவேறியதாகக் கருதப்படும். மேலும் அந்தப் புரி—வாரணாசி—தான் புனிதமான சுடுகாடு ‘அவிமுக்தம்’ எனப் போற்றப்படுகிறது.
