Sanatkumara (teaching Narada on mantra-lakṣaṇa classifications)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: vira
It defines a technical category of mantra used for warding off and repelling obstacles, showing that mantras are classified by specific phonetic/structural markers rather than by sentiment alone.
Indirectly: it places protective and corrective ritual tools within a dharmic framework, supporting a devotee’s steady practice by removing impediments, even though the verse itself is primarily mantra-technical rather than devotional.
Mantra-śāstra grounded in Śikṣā/Vyākaraṇa-style attention to syllabic placement (middle, head) and formulaic components (astra), indicating how precise phonetic structure determines ritual function.
