द्विगुणेष्टहृतं रूपं श्रेष्टं प्राग्रूपकं परम् । वर्गयोगांतरे व्येके राश्योर्वर्गोस्त एतयोः ॥ ३३ ॥

Transliteration

dviguṇeṣṭahṛtaṃ rūpaṃ śreṣṭaṃ prāgrūpakaṃ param | vargayogāṃtare vyeke rāśyorvargosta etayoḥ || 33 ||

Translation

இஷ்ட ராசியால் வகுத்து கிடைக்கும் ரூபத்தை இருமடங்காக்குவது சிறந்ததும் உயர்ந்ததும் ஆன ‘பிராக்ரூபக’ (முன்-முறை) எனப் போற்றப்படுகிறது. வர்க்க-யோக முறையில் சிலர், இவ்விரு ராசிகளின் வர்க்க விளைவு ஒன்றாகக் கொள்ளப்பட வேண்டும் எனக் கூறுகின்றனர்।
