श्रीब्रह्मोवाच । अथातः संप्रवक्ष्यामि तवाग्नेयपुराणकम् । ईशानकल्पवृत्तांतं वसिष्ठायानलोऽब्रवीत् ॥ १ ॥
śrībrahmovāca | athātaḥ saṃpravakṣyāmi tavāgneyapurāṇakam | īśānakalpavṛttāṃtaṃ vasiṣṭhāyānalo'bravīt || 1 ||
ஸ்ரீபிரம்மா கூறினார்—இப்போது நான் உனக்கு அக்னேய புராணத்தைத் தெளிவாக உரைப்பேன்; ஈசான-கல்பத்தின் அந்த வரலாற்றை அக்னிதேவன் வசிஷ்டருக்கு உரைத்தான்।
