பல கதாப் பிரசங்கங்கள் பின்னப்பட்டதால், அவை மனிதருக்கு சத்கதியை அளிப்பவையாகின்றன. அந்த நூலின் முன்னிருப்புப் பகுதியில் புராணத்தின் பழமையான உபக்ரமம் (முன்னுரை அமைப்பு) கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
