शोभनं भीरु सत्यं चेत् कथं स ज्ञायते द्विजः गोत्रनामाभिजनतः श्रोतुमिच्छामि तं द्विजम् //

Transliteration

śobhanaṃ bhīru satyaṃ cet kathaṃ sa jñāyate dvijaḥ gotranāmābhijanataḥ śrotumicchāmi taṃ dvijam //

Translation

அஞ்சும் இயல்புடையவளே! உண்மையே நற்குணத்தின் அடையாளமெனில், ‘த்விஜன்’ எவ்வாறு அறியப்படுவான்? கோத்திரம், பெயர், குலவழி ஆகியவற்றாலா? அந்த உண்மையான த்விஜனைப் பற்றி நான் கேட்க விரும்புகிறேன்।
