*देवयान्युवाच पाणिग्रहो नाहुषायं न पुंभिः सेवितः पुरा त्वं पाणिमग्रहीदग्रे वृणोमि त्वामहं ततः //

Transliteration

*devayānyuvāca pāṇigraho nāhuṣāyaṃ na puṃbhiḥ sevitaḥ purā tvaṃ pāṇimagrahīdagre vṛṇomi tvāmahaṃ tataḥ //

Translation

தேவயானி கூறினாள்—நஹுஷனுக்காக முன்பு ஆண்கள் பாணிக்ரஹணச் சடங்கைச் செய்ததில்லை. ஆனால் நீயே முதலில் என் கையைப் பற்றினாய்; ஆகவே நான் உன்னையே தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறேன்.
