Adhyaya 63 — The Birth of Svarocis and the Rescue of Manoramā: The Astra-Heart and the Healing of Curses
मयाभिभूता किं त्राणमुपैषि द्रुतमेहि मे ।
भक्षामि किञ्चिरेणेति ब्रुवाणं तं ददर्श सः ॥
mayābhibhūtā kiṃ trāṇamupaiṣi drutamehi me | bhakṣāmi kiñcireṇeti bruvāṇaṃ taṃ dadarśa saḥ
‘என்னால் அடக்கப்பட்டபின் நீ எந்தச் சரணத்தை நாடுவாய்? விரைவாக என்னிடம் வா; ஒரு கணத்தில் உன்னை விழுங்கிவிடுவேன்!’—என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டே அவன் அவனைப் பார்த்தான்।
Adharma often speaks in the language of inevitability (‘you are already defeated’). The episode sets up the counter-lesson: inner steadiness and right knowledge can overturn such claims.

The rākṣasa’s ‘devouring’ symbolizes the consuming nature of unrestrained desire/anger that seeks to absorb the self; the remedy is mastery of one’s inner ‘astra’ (focused will).
