Adhyaya 48 — The Emanation of Beings from Brahma: Night, Day, Twilight, and the Orders of Creation
इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणे प्राकृतवैकृतसर्गो नाम सप्तचत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः ।
अष्टचत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः—
क्रौष्टुकिरुवाच— समासात् कथिता सृष्टिः सम्यग् भगवता मम ।
देवादीनां भवं ब्रह्मन् विस्तरात्तु ब्रवीहि मे ॥
iti śrī mārkaṇḍeyapurāṇe prākṛtavaikṛtasargo nāma saptacātvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ / aṣṭacātvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ—krauṣṭukir uvāca—samāsāt kathitā sṛṣṭiḥ samyag bhagavatā mama / devādīnāṃ bhavaṃ brahman vistarāttu bravīhi me
இவ்வாறு ஸ்ரீ மார்கண்டேய புராணத்தில் ‘பிராக்ருத மற்றும் வைக்ருத படைப்பு’ எனப்படும் நாற்பத்தேழாம் அத்தியாயம் நிறைவுற்றது. நாற்பத்தெட்டாம் அத்தியாயம் தொடங்குகிறது. க்ரௌஷ்டுகி கூறினார்— ‘பகவான் எனக்கு படைப்பைச் சுருக்கமாகச் சரியாக விளக்கியுள்ளார். ஓ பிராமணரே, தேவர்கள் முதலியோரின் தோற்றத்தை விரிவாகச் சொல்லுங்கள்.’
