Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
तर्जन्यङ्गुष्ठयोरन्तः पैत्र्यं तीर्थमुदाहृतम् । पितॄणां तेन तोयादि दद्याद् नान्दीमुखादृते ॥
tarjanyaṅguṣṭhayorantaḥ paitryaṃ tīrthamudāhṛtam | pitṝṇāṃ tena toyādi dadyānnāndīmukhādṛte ||
சுட்டுவிரலும் பெருவிரலும் இடையிலுள்ள இடம் ‘பைத்ரிய-தீர்த்தம்’ எனக் கூறப்படுகிறது. அதனால் பித்ருக்களுக்கு நீர் முதலியவற்றை அர்ப்பணிக்க வேண்டும்—ஆனால் நாந்தீமுக விதியில் அல்ல.
