Agni’s Withdrawal to the Forest and Identification with Āṅgirasa (अग्न्याङ्गिरस-इतिहासः)
पतिको आया देख उस श्याम नेत्रोंवाली पतिव्रताने ब्राह्मणगको तो उसी दशामें छोड़ दिया और अत्यन्त विनीतभावसे वह पतिकी सेवामें लग गयी। पानी लाकर उसने पतिके पैर धोये, हाथ-मुँह धुलाये और बैठनेको आसन दिया
patiko āyā dekha usa śyāma-netrõvālī pativratāne brāhmaṇagako to usī daśāmeṃ choṛa diyā aura atyanta vinīta-bhāvase vaha patikī sevāmeṃ laga gayī. pānī lākar usane patike pair dhoye, hātha-mũha dhulāye aura baiṭhane-ko āsana diyā.
மார்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—தன் கணவர் வந்ததைப் பார்த்த அந்த கருமைநோக்குடைய பதிவிரதை, பிராமணனை அவன் இருந்த நிலையிலேயே விட்டுவிட்டு, மிகுந்த பணிவுடன் கணவர் சேவையில் ஈடுபட்டாள். நீர் கொண்டு வந்து கணவரின் பாதங்களைத் துவைத்து, கைமுகம் சுத்தம் செய்ய உதவி செய்து, அமர ஆசனமும் அளித்தாள்.
