Dharma-vyādha’s Analysis of Moral Decline and the Mahābhūta–Guṇa Schema (धर्मव्याधोपदेशः)
श्राद्धकाले तु यत्नेन भोक्तव्या हाजुगुप्सिता: । दुर्वर्गः कुनखी कुछी मायावी कुण्डगोलकी
śrāddhakāle tu yatnena bhoktavyā hājugupsitāḥ | durvargaḥ kunakhī kuchī māyāvī kuṇḍagolakī ||
மார்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—சிராத்த காலத்தில் மிகுந்த கவனத்துடன் குற்றமற்றவர்களுக்கே உணவளிக்க வேண்டும். தீயொழுக்கமுடையோர், நகங்கள் நோயுற்றோர், அருவருப்பான நோயால் பீடிக்கப்பட்டோர், வஞ்சக-துரோகிகள், மேலும் நிந்திக்கப்படும் பிறப்புடையோர்—இவர்களைச் சிராத்தத்தில் விலக்க வேண்டும். ஏனெனில் தகாதவர்களைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு செய்யப்படும் சிராத்தம் நிந்தைக்குரியதாகிறது; நிந்தைக்குரிய சிராத்தம், தீ உலர்ந்த மரக்கட்டையை எரிப்பதுபோல், யஜமானனுக்கு தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும்।
