रेणुकां त्वथ सम्प्राप्य भार्या भार्गवनन्दन: । आश्रमस्थस्तया सार्ध तपस्तेपेडनुकूलया,भगुकुलका आनन्द बढ़ानेवाले जमदग्नि राजकुमारी रेणुकाको पत्नीरूपमें पाकर आश्रमपर ही रहते हुए उसके साथ तपस्या करने लगे। रेणुका सदा सब प्रकारसे पतिके अनुकूल चलनेवाली स्त्री थी

reṇukāṃ tv atha samprāpya bhāryā bhārgavanandanaḥ | āśramasthaḥ tayā sārdhaṃ tapas tepe 'nukūlayā ||

ரேணுகையை மனைவியாகப் பெற்ற பின், ப்ருகு குலத்தின் மகிழ்ச்சியான ஜமதக்னி ஆசிரமத்திலேயே தங்கி, கணவனுக்கு இசைவாக நடக்கும் அந்த சாத்வி மனைவியுடன் சேர்ந்து தவம் செய்தார்।
