अध्याय ८ — शल्यस्य सत्कारः, वरदानं, पाण्डवसमागमश्च (Śalya’s Reception, the Boon, and Meeting the Pāṇḍavas)
सर्व जगदिदं तात विदितं ते परंतप । दिष्ट्या कृच्छुमिदं राजन् पारितं भरतर्षभ
sarva jagad idaṃ tāta viditaṃ te parantapa | diṣṭyā kṛcchum idaṃ rājan pāritaṃ bharatarṣabha ||
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்—தாதா! பரந்தபா! இந்த முழு உலகின் தத்துவம் உமக்குத் தெரியும். ஓ அரசே, பாரதர்களில் சிறந்தவரே! இந்தக் கடும் நெருக்கடியை நீர் கடந்து வந்தது பெரும் பாக்கியம்.
