Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
काश्ये न काम गृह्नामि शस्त्र वै वरवर्णिनि । ऋते ब्रह्मविदां हेतो: किमनयत् करवाणि ते
kāśye na kāma gṛhṇāmi śastraṃ vai varavarṇini | ṛte brahmavidāṃ hetoḥ kim anyat karavāṇi te ||
நல்ல நிறமுடைய காசி அரசகுமாரியே! தனிப்பட்ட ஆசையால் மட்டும் நான் ஆயுதம் எடுப்பதில்லை. பிரம்மவிதர்களான வேதஞானிகளின் நோக்கும் பாதுகாப்பும் தொடர்புடைய காரணமின்றி நான் ஆயுதம் ஏந்தேன். ஆகவே என் விரதத்தை காத்துக்கொண்டு, உனக்காக நான் வேறு என்ன செய்யலாம்?
