भीष्मद्रोणयोर्दुर्योधनं प्रति शमोपदेशः | Bhīṣma and Droṇa’s Counsel of Conciliation to Duryodhana
नमो धर्माय महते धर्मो धारयति प्रजा: । एतद् धनंजयो वाच्यो नित्योद्युक्तो वृकोदर:
namo dharmāya mahate dharmo dhārayati prajāḥ | etad dhanaṃjayo vācyo nityodyukto vṛkodaraḥ ||
அந்த மகாதர்மத்துக்கு நான் வணங்குகிறேன்; தர்மமே எல்லாப் பிரஜைகளையும் தாங்குகிறது. இந்தச் செய்தியை தனஞ்சயன் அர்ஜுனனுக்கும், எப்போதும் செயலில் தயாரான வ்ருகோதரன் பீமனுக்கும் சொல்லுங்கள்—க்ஷத்திரியப் பெண் மகனைப் பெறுவது எந்த நோக்கத்திற்கோ, அதற்கான தக்க நேரம் வந்துவிட்டது; உயர்ந்தோர் பகை உறுதியானபின் உற்சாகம் தளரார்.
