शत्रुं कृत्वा यः सहायं विश्वासमुपगच्छति । स न सम्भाव्यमेवैतद् यद् राज्यं प्राप्रुयादिति,जो शत्रुको सहायक बनाकर उसका विश्वास करता है, वह राज्य प्राप्त कर लेगा, इसकी कभी सम्भावना ही नहीं करनी चाहिये
śatruṁ kṛtvā yaḥ sahāyaṁ viśvāsam upagacchati | sa na sambhāvyam evaitad yad rājyaṁ prāpnuyād iti ||
பகைவனைத் துணையாக்கி அவன்மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பவன், அரசாட்சியை அடைவேன் என்ற நம்பிக்கையையே கொள்ளக் கூடாது. பகைமையில் ஊன்றிய நம்பிக்கை அறத்திற்கும் அரசியலுக்கும் ஒவ்வாதது; நிலையான ஆட்சிக்குத் தளமாகாது.
