एकार्णवे च स्वपता निहतौ मधुकैटभौ । जन्मान्तरमुपागम्य हयग्रीवस्तथा हत:
ekārṇave ca svapatā nihatāu madhukaiṭabhau | janmāntaram upāgamya hayagrīvas tathā hataḥ ||
ஒரே பேர்கடலில் யோகநித்திரையில் துயின்றபோதும் (பகவான்) மது, கைடபர்களை வதைத்தார்; பின்னர் மற்றொரு பிறவி எடுத்து ஹயக்ரீவனும் அதேபோல் அழிக்கப்பட்டான்.
