Educational Q&A

True well-wishers speak for one’s real good, and ignoring sound, dharmic counsel leads to later suffering and remorse. The verse stresses ethical responsibility: accept wise guidance before consequences become irreversible.

In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations and counsel, the narrator Vaiśampāyana underscores that both Kṛṣṇa and Bhīṣma—figures from different sides—share a sincere, truthful recommendation. The addressee is warned that rejecting it will result in regret later.
