सान्त्व-निति: (Sāntva-Nīti) — The One-Word Principle of Conciliation
तस्मात् सान्त्व॑ प्रयोक्तव्यं दण्डमाधित्सतो5पि हि । फल॑ं च जनयत्येवं न चास्योद्धिजते जन:
tasmāt sāntvaṁ prayoktavyaṁ daṇḍam ādhitsato 'pi hi | phalaṁ ca janayaty evaṁ na cāsyoddvijate janaḥ ||
ஆகையால் தண்டனை விதிக்க எண்ணும் அரசனும் முதலில் சாந்த்வமிக்க இனிய சொற்களையே பேச வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு செய்தால் அவன் நோக்கம் நிறைவேறும்; அவனால் யாரும் கலங்கவும் அஞ்சவும் மாட்டார்கள்.
