Cāturāśramya-dharma—Marks of the Four Āśramas (चातुराश्रम्यधर्मः)

भूमिपानां च शुश्रूषा कर्तव्या सर्वदस्युभि: । वेदधर्मक्रियाश्रैव तेषां धर्मो विधीयते

bhūmipālānāṃ ca śuśrūṣā kartavyā sarva-dasyubhiḥ | veda-dharma-kriyāś caiva teṣāṃ dharmo vidhīyate ||

நாட்டைக் காக்கும் அரசர்களுக்கு சேவை செய்து அவர்களின் ஆணையை ஏற்றொழுகுதல் கொள்ளையால் வாழ்பவர்களுக்கும் கடமையே. அவர்களுக்கும் வேதம் விதித்த தர்மக் கிரியைகளைச் செய்தல் உரிய தர்மமாக நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டது.
