अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः
Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic
तस्मात् पृथ्व्या: परित्राणं करिष्ये सम्भवं गत: । एवं स चिन्तयित्वा तु भगवान् मधुसूदन:
tasmat pṛthvyāḥ paritrāṇaṃ kariṣye sambhavaṃ gataḥ | evaṃ sa cintayitvā tu bhagavān madhusūdanaḥ, ebhirmayā nihantavyā durvinītāḥ surārayaḥ |
ஆகையால், அவதாரமாகப் பிறந்து நான் பூமியை நிச்சயமாகக் காப்பேன். இவ்வாறு சிந்தித்த பகவான் மதுசூதனன், இம்மெய்யுருவாக்கங்களின் வழியே தேவர்களின் அடங்காத பகைவர்களை அழித்தே ஆக வேண்டும் என்று தீர்மானித்தான்.
