Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

सच्त्वान्नच्युतपूर्वो5हं सत्त्वं वै विद्धि मत्कृतम्‌ । जन्मनीहा भवेत्‌ सत्त्वं पौर्विकं मे धनंजय

sattvān na cyutapūrvo 'haṃ sattvaṃ vai viddhi matkṛtam | janmanīhā bhavet sattvaṃ paurvikaṃ me dhanañjaya ||

தனஞ்சயா! நான் ஒருபோதும் சத்த்வத்திலிருந்து வழுவியதில்லை. சத்த்வம் என்னிடமிருந்தே தோன்றியது என்று அறிக. இப்பிறவியிலும் என் பழம்பெரும் ஆதிச் சத்த்வம் நிலைத்திருக்கிறது; அந்தச் சத்த்வத்தினாலேயே நான் பாவமற்றவனாய் ஆசையற்ற செயலில் ஈடுபடுகிறேன்—ஆகவே மக்கள் என்னை ‘சாத்த்வத’ என அழைக்கின்றனர்.
