Adhyāya 284: Tapas as a Corrective to Household Attachment
Parāśara’s Instruction
यः: सहस्राण्यनेकानि पुंसामावृत्य दुर्देश: । तिष्ठत्येक: समुद्रान्ते स मे गोप्तास्तु नित्यश:
yaḥ sahasrāṇy anekāni puṁsām āvṛtya durdeśaḥ | tiṣṭhaty ekaḥ samudrānte sa me goptāstu nityaśaḥ ||
எண்ணற்ற மனிதர்களின் மனங்களை மறைத்து அனைவருக்கும் அறிதற்கரியவனாய் இருப்பவன்; ஒரேவன், ஒப்பற்றவன்; ஆசைகள் முடிவுறும் போது—கடலின் அப்பாற் கரைபோல்—வெளிப்படுபவன்; அந்த பரமேசுவரன் எந்நாளும் எனைக் காக்கட்டும்।
