अध्याय २८१ — दानधर्मः, न्यायागतधनम्, ऋणत्रय-परिशोधनं च
Dāna ethics, lawful wealth, and settling obligations
भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन! महात्मा ब्रह्माजीके ऐसा कहनेपर वृक्ष, ओषधि और तृणका समुदाय उनकी पूजा करके जैसे आया था, वैसे ही शीघ्र लौट गया ।।
āhūyāpsaraso devas tato lokapitāmahaḥ | vācā madhurayā prāha sāntvayann iva bhārata ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அரசே! மகாத்மா பிரம்மா இவ்வாறு கூறியதும், மரங்கள், மூலிகைகள், புல்கள் அவரை வணங்கி, வந்த வழியே விரைந்து திரும்பின. அதன் பின் உலகப் பிதாமகனான தேவன் பிரம்மா அப்சரஸ்களை அழைத்து, பாரதா, இனிய சொற்களால் அவர்களை ஆறுதல் கூறுவது போலப் பேசினார்।
