विशेषतस्तु कार्तिक्यां द्विजेभ्य: सम्प्रयच्छति । शरद्‌ व्यपाये रत्नानि पौर्णमास्यामिति श्रुति:

Transliteration

viśeṣatas tu kārtikyāṁ dvijebhyaḥ samprayacchati | śarad-vyapāye ratnāni paurṇamāsyām iti śrutiḥ ||

Translation

சிறப்பாக கார்த்திகை பௌர்ணமி நாளில்—சரத்காலம் விலகும் வேளையில்—அவர் இருபிறப்பினரான (பிராமணர்களான) அவர்களுக்கு ரத்தினங்களைத் தானமாக அளித்தார் என்று மரபுச் செய்தி கூறுகிறது।
