लोभात् क्रोध: प्रभवति परदोषैरुदीर्यते
lobhāt krodhaḥ prabhavati paradoṣair udīryate
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—லோபத்திலிருந்து கோபம் பிறக்கிறது; பிறரின் குறைகளை நினைத்தல் அதனை மேலும் தீவிரப்படுத்துகிறது. அதனால் உள்ளடக்கம் (சுயக்கட்டுப்பாடு) சிதைந்து, தர்மவிவேகம் மங்குகிறது।
