पूर्णचन्द्रमिव व्योम्नि तुषारावृतमण्डलम् | रेणुध्वस्तं दीर्घभुजं मातड्रमिव विक्रमे
pūrṇacandram iva vyomni tuṣārāvṛtamaṇḍalam | reṇudhvastam dīrghabhujaṃ mātaṅgam iva vikrame ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—வானில் முழுநிலா, அதன் வட்டம் குளிர்கால மந்தாரத்தால் மறைக்கப்பட்டதுபோல்; போர்க்களத்தில் வெறிகொண்ட பெருயானைபோல்—நீண்ட கரங்களும் வலிமையும் உடையவன்—இப்போது தூசியில் மூழ்கி. அந்த நொடியில் துரியோதனன் நிலை அப்படியே இருந்தது—அவன் முன்னைய ஒளி மறைந்தது; போரின் கடுமையான உண்மை அவன் அகந்தையைத் தாழ்த்தியது.
