गदायुद्धप्रतिज्ञा — The Vow and Terms of the Mace Duel
स त्वमुत्तिष्ठ युध्यस्व विनीय भयमात्मन: । घातयित्वा सर्वसैन्यं भ्रातृश्वैव सुयोधन
sa tvam uttiṣṭha yudhyasva vinīya bhayam ātmanaḥ | ghātayitvā sarvasainyaṃ bhrātṝś caiva suyodhana ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—ஆகவே உன் உள்ளத்தின் பயத்தை அகற்றி எழுந்து போர் செய். ஓ சுயோதன! சகோதரர்களையும் முழு சேனையையும் அழியச் செய்த பின், க்ஷத்திரிய தர்மத்தைப் பற்றிய உன்னைப் போன்றவன் இப்போது ‘தர்மம்’ என்ற பெயரில் உயிர் காக்க மட்டும் எண்ணுவது பொருந்தாது.
