दृढमूला वयं राज्ये मित्राणि परिगृह्म॒ च । सारवद् विपुलं सैन्यं सत्कृत्य च दुरासदम्,(हमारी विजय होनेपर) हमलोग बहुत-से मित्रोंका संग्रह करके बलशाली, दुर्धर्ष एवं विशाल सेनाका पुरस्कार आदिके द्वारा सत्कार करते हुए इस राज्यपर अपनी जड़ जमा लेंगे
dṛḍhamūlā vayaṁ rājye mitrāṇi parigṛhya ca | sāravad vipulaṁ sainyaṁ satkṛtya ca durāsadam ||
துரியோதனன் கூறினான்—இந்த அரசில் நாங்கள் உறுதியாக வேரூன்றுவோம். பல நண்பர்களைச் சேர்த்து, வலிமைமிக்க, பெரும், அணுக இயலாத படையை மரியாதையும் பரிசுகளாலும் போற்றி, எங்கள் நிலையை அசைக்க முடியாததாக ஆக்குவோம்.
