एक एव रणे भीष्म एकवीरत्वमागत: । “किंतु समरांगणमें भीष्मजी अकेले ही पाण्डवों और सूंजयोंको खदेड़कर युद्धमें अद्वितीय वीरके रूपमें विख्यात हुए
eka eva raṇe bhīṣma ekavīratvam āgataḥ |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—அந்தப் போரில் பீஷ்மர் ஒருவரே தனிவீரனாகத் திகழ்ந்தார். பாண்டவர்களையும் ஸ்ரிஞ்ஜயர்களையும் போர்க்களத்திலிருந்து விரட்டிப் பின்னடையச் செய்து, ரணாங்கணத்தில் ஒப்பற்ற வீரராகப் புகழ்பெற்றார்.
