अध्याय ६० — कर्णस्य पाञ्चाल-सोमक-निग्रहः

कृपाचार्य युद्धस्थलमें महाधनुर्धर युधामन्युपर टूट पड़े और बलवान् कृतवमनि उत्तमौजापर आक्रमण किया ।। भीमसेन: कुरून् सर्वान् पुत्रांश्ष तव मारिष । सहानीकान् महाबाहुरेक एव न्यवारयत्,आर्य! महाबाहु भीमसेनने अकेले ही सेनासहित समस्त कौरवों और आपके पुत्रोंको आगे बढ़नेसे रोक दिया

kṛpācāryo yuddhasthale mahādhanurdharo yudhāmanyupar tūṭa pade ca balavān kṛtavarmā uttamaujasi samākrāmat ||
bhīmasenaḥ kurūn sarvān putrāṃś ca tava māriṣa |
sahānīkān mahābāhur eka eva nyavārayad ārya ||
போர்க்களத்தில் கிருபாசாரியர் மகாதனுர்தரன் யுதாமன்யுவை நோக்கி பாய்ந்தார்; வலிமைமிக்க கிருதவர்மன் உத்தமௌஜனைத் தாக்கினான். அரசே, பெருந்தோளன் பீமசேனன் படைப்பிரிவுகளுடன் வந்த குருக்களையும் உங்கள் புதல்வர்களையும் ஒருவனாகவே முன்னேற விடாமல் தடுத்தான்.
