Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the epic idea that when cosmic balance is threatened, divine power may act decisively to uphold order (dharma) and protect the rightful stability of the worlds; victory is portrayed not merely as force, but as the reassertion of a larger moral-cosmic harmony.

Bhīṣma describes a dramatic scene: Śiva moves swiftly, borne by extraordinarily swift, world-renowned horses whose speed is likened to drinking up the sky, as he goes to secure victory for the gods (the heavenly beings).
