प्रणयादभिमानाच्च द्विषद्वृद्धा च दुर्मना: । शृण्वतां सर्वयोधानां संरब्धो वाक्यकोविद:
sañjaya uvāca |
prāṇayād abhimānāc ca dviṣad-vṛddhā ca durmanāḥ |
śṛṇvatāṃ sarva-yodhānāṃ saṃrabdho vākya-kovidaḥ ||
பகைவர்களின் உயர்ச்சியால் அவன் உள்ளுக்குள் மிகுந்த துயரமடைந்தான். துரோணாசாரியரிடம் அவனுக்கு பாசமும், தன் வீரத்தில் பெருமிதமும் இருந்தது. ஆகவே கோபம் கொந்தளித்து, சொல்வன்மை கொண்ட அரசன் துரியோதனன் எல்லா வீரர்களும் கேட்குமாறு இவ்வாறு கூறினான்—
