Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how overwhelming power on the battlefield creates moral and strategic urgency: when a great warrior’s actions become devastating, leaders and soldiers instinctively seek those best suited—by strength (Bhīma) and by destined role/command (Dhṛṣṭadyumna)—to restore balance and uphold their side’s duty in war.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, after witnessing Droṇa’s formidable martial actions, the warriors (implied from context) raise loud cries and urgently call for Bhīmasena and Dhṛṣṭadyumna, signaling a moment of alarm and the need to counter Droṇa’s onslaught.
