Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention
कृतां चेन्मन्यसे रक्षां स्वस्ति ते5स्तु विशाम्पते । अनुयास्यामि बीभत्सुं करिष्ये वचनं तव
kṛtāṃ cen manyase rakṣāṃ svasti te 'stu viśāmpate | anuyāsyāmi bībhatsuṃ kariṣye vacanaṃ tava ||
சாத்தியகி கூறினான்—மக்கள்தலைவா! உங்கள் பாதுகாப்பு ஏற்பாடுகள் நிறைவடைந்தன என்று நீங்கள் கருதினால், உங்களுக்கு நலம் உண்டாகுக. நான் பீபத்ஸு (அர்ஜுனன்) பின்னே சென்று உங்கள் ஆணையை நிறைவேற்றுவேன்.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined duty and ethical obedience: a messenger or counselor should ensure the ruler’s safety is settled, offer auspicious goodwill, and then faithfully execute the entrusted command without delay.
Sañjaya addresses the king respectfully, wishes him safety, and states that he will go to Arjuna (called Bībhatsu) to follow through on the king’s instruction—signaling a mission or communication to Arjuna amid the war setting.
