अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

सम्प्राप्य मध्यं सैन्यस्थ न भी: पाण्डवमाविशत् । यथा देवासूुरे युद्धे महेन्द्रं प्राप्प दानवान्,कौरवसेनाके भीतर पहुँच जानेपर भी पाण्डुनन्दन भीमसेनको तनिक भी भय नहीं हुआ, जैसे देवासुर-संग्राममें दानवोंकी सेनामें घुसनेपर देवराज इन्द्रको भयका स्पर्श नहीं होता है
saṃprāpya madhyaṃ sainyastha na bhīḥ pāṇḍavam āviśat | yathā devāsure yuddhe mahendraṃ prāpya dānavān ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—கௌரவர் சேனையின் நடுவில் சென்றபோதும் பாண்டுவின் மகன் பீமசேனனுக்கு சிறிதும் அச்சம் புகவில்லை; தேவர்கள்-அசுரர்கள் போரில் தானவர்கள் மத்தியில் நுழைந்தாலும் மகேந்திரன் இந்திரனை அச்சம் தொடாததுபோல்.
