Droṇa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna-yuddha (द्रोण-धृष्टद्युम्न-युद्धम्) — Tactical duel and allied interventions
तयोस्तदभवद् युद्ध॑ं घोररूप॑ विशाम्पते । दृप्तयो: समरे पूर्व वृत्रवासवयोरिव,राजन्! उस समरभूमिमें इन्द्र और वृत्रासुरकी भाँति उन दोनों अभिमानी वीरोंमें बड़ा भयंकर युद्ध हुआ
tayos tad abhavad yuddhaṁ ghorarūpaṁ viśāṁpate | dṛptayoḥ samare pūrvaṁ vṛtrāvāsavayor iva ||
மனிதர்களின் தலைவனே, அந்த இரு அகந்தையுற்ற வீரர்களுக்கிடையில் போர்க்களத்தில் கொடிய வடிவமுடைய போர் எழுந்தது—முன்னொரு காலத்தில் வாசவன் (இந்திரன்) மற்றும் வ்ருத்ரன் இடையே நடந்ததுபோல்.
